Please remove your shoes at the door you walk in. If you will be SPINNING: Bring clean indoor or cycling shoes to wear. Especially in the winter when it is wet and salty (the salt ruins our unique and amazing floor and spin bikes)
The studio opens 15 minutes before class. Please sign in at the front desk prior to placing your mat or choosing a bike. If you are a new student, please allow time to fill out your waiver and/or learn to set up your bike. You can sign up ahead of time using the Yoga State App or on this web site, schedule page. If you do just check in when you arrive.
Refrain from eating 1 to 2 hours before practice. Come hydrated.
Please bring your own mat and/or towel. Mats are available for purchase or may be rented for $2. Water is available for $1. Small hand towels are $1. (please only use the provided towel in the spin room for cleaning your bike after class).
Yoga is practiced barefoot. Also wear comfortable clothing that can move with your body.
Please observe silence while in the yoga room and whisper if in the hallway while waiting for other classes to let out.
For safety reasons as well as respect for the teacher and other students please do not leave class while it is in session. We know how to keep you safe inside the room. It is also disruptive to all. If you do not feel well or get overheated please sit on your mat and we will assist you.
Let your teacher know about any injury or health problem that will affect your practice.
Please do not wear scents to class. Many people are sensitive.
Please do not bring cell phones into class unless necessary. Please leave your valuables in the front room where they can be locked up during class.
You will sweat. Bring a towel or cloth to clean up yourself and your personal area. If SPINNING, bring a hand towel to wipe sweat and a second towel to place under the bike. If cycling, please use the provided cleaner to wipe down the bike and areas under or near you after your class. This will ensure that the bikes are in the best condition for each ride.
Respect the limits of your body. Do not push, compare, or compete. Yoga is a practice of letting go, being where you are, and self-acceptance. Encourage yourself to be challenged, but keep yourself safe at all times. Listen to your body. Please follow the cues of the teacher to the best of your ability, this is a practice of discipline and pacing as well, so please continue to try a variation of what is being taught. In most classes you will have time for self expression, but when being taught please stay together.
If you have to leave early please tell the teacher in advance, take Savasana on your own to complete your practice, and exit before the rest of the class takes Savasana so as not to disturb other students.
Enjoy your practice and have fun!
